Born Paul McFarlane, Singing Sweet is never hesitant when talking about his life and musical journey because he has learned to transform his obstacles and pour them into hard-hitting four minute snippets of his life, called ‘songs’.
Early in his carreer Singing Sweet recorded a reggae rendition of “When I See You Smile”, which became Singing Sweet’s first number one hit both locally and internationally. That was in 1991.
Singing Sweet went on to record “Oh Donna”, which became another mega-hit. Subsequently, in 1994, he released his debut album, “Oh Donna”, which was produced by Collin Fatta and Steelie and Cleevie and released on the VP Records label.
In addition to his previous singles, Singing Sweet has recorded a number of memorable cuts for the Big Ship label, including “Mek Up Yuh Face”, “Seasons Change” on the Fitness riddim, “What Love Is”, “Missing You”, “All In The Game” and more.
